Christopher Hunter - C.O.R.E Coordinator
A native of Detroit, MI, Christopher A. Hunter joins the Center for Multicultural Initiatives as CORE Program Coordinator. Mr. Hunter has an extensive background in student development, community relations, and organizational leadership with institutions such as Federal TRIO, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and 21st Century Community Learning Centers. Along with his passion for youth development, Mr. Hunter enjoys the arts, sports, and spending time with family.

2015 Hispanic Heritage Month
Join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Oakland University from September 21 - October 23, 2015
. There will be a number of events including an Ask the Latina, our annual Salsa Night and community service project at the Hispanic Outreach center in Pontiac! It is a long standing tradition at Oakland University to recognize National Hispanic Month. Go to oakland.edu/cmi/hhm

Circle of Brotherhood and Sisterhood
The Center for Multicultural Initiatives would like to invite you to both the Circle of Brotherhood and the Circle of Sisterhood. This is a chance to build relationships with fellow students and enhance your academic and personal experience at Oakland University. Circle of Sisterhood meets every Thursday from 4-5:30pm beginning Sept 17th, 2015.

|Keeper of the Dream applications are now available to students who posses all of the following attributes: current cumulative grade-point average of 3.0, demonstrated campus involvement, record of responsible citizenship, scholarship and leadership in breaking down cultural stereotypes and in promoting interracial understanding, and must be a continuing full time student for fall 2016 and winter 2017 semesters. Applications are due by 5pm Friday, October 16. |
